IATSE stands for International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees of the United States, Its Territories, and Canada. Since its creation in 1899, the organization has evolved to include Moving Picture Technicians, Artists, and Allied Crafts.

Established in 1991 for Studio Mechanics, Local 484 has jurisdiction over Film, Television, Commercial, and Music Video production in the states of Texas and Oklahoma.

When is my membership application due?

The deadline for ALL completed application materials is the last day of each month - applications are reviewed at our monthly meetings by our Membership Committee on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

How do I find work as a Local 484 member?

Local 484 is not a hiring hall. You are responsible for finding work yourself. Networking will be your primary action for securing jobs and Production Updates listing projects and their contact information is available to all current Journeymen. You will also be asked to Submit Your Availability once a month or whenever your work status changes (whichever comes first). This way, the Business Manager can ensure 484 members are working!

How do I find work as a non-member?

The Permit List is used as an overflow after our Rosters have been exhausted so if you or someone you know is interested in working within the 484 jurisdiction or visiting from another Local, please direct them to the Permit Request on our website. You can always contact the office with any questions at office@iatse484.org.

How much is the Work Assessment for Local 484?

Our Work Assessment is currently equal to 3% of gross union wages. IATSE Members are required to pay this assessment to the jurisdiction they are working in, and typically it is deducted from paychecks. Members are asked to check their paystubs periodically to ensure this deduction is being made. Contact the office or download the 3% Payroll Deduction Form to turn it into Production Payroll. 

How much are the Quarterly Dues for Local 484, and when are they due?

Quarterly Membership Dues are currently $75 per Quarter or $300 per year. 

The 1st Quarter is due on the 1st of January • The 2nd Quarter is due on the 1st of April

 The 3rd Quarter is due on the 1st of July • The 4th Quarter is due on the 1st of October
